Description
When you have to describe "light", you point to the sun. When you have to explain "big", you throw a glance at ocean's general direction and pray Leviathan won't come out and devour the continent you stand on. This... thing is so vast his eyes are like two orange suns blazing at you, his long scaly body slithering and coiling for hundreds of miles, his toothy jaws leading to hell itself.

Area of expertise
When you're that big and scary, you don't have to explain to puny humans what is your area of expertise. You just eat them, and their tiny ships and their tiny patches of land. Then you proceed to the main course for the day – a boiled sea full of whales and other fish.

Current status
Leviathan is the force representing eternal chaos. As such, it can't really be neither dead nor alive. In gamers terms, this boss will always respawn.

Notes
A not so dramatic explanation to the whole story: a drunk sailor explained what a whale looks like to the naive audience at the inn. But that's too bland for my taste.
